NEW ORLEANS, La. (May 13, 2014) – The Louisiana Hospitality Foundation (LHF) has released dates for the 2014 Louisiana Seafood Festival, a celebration of Louisiana’s culture and most famous cuisine, our fresh and flavorful seafood. The three-day festival will return RAIN OR SHINE to City Park’s Festival Grounds from Friday, October 10, 2014 through Sunday, October 12, 2014:
Friday, October 10: 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 11: 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Sunday, October 12: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The festival will continue in 2014 with a focus on offering a wide selection of food and music. Some of the best restaurants and caterers in Louisiana will be cooking authentic Louisiana seafood products, including fish, crab, shrimp, oysters, alligator and crawfish, prepared in dozens of ways to appeal the palette. Attendees can enjoy live music from local and national acts, as well as culinary demonstrations from noted chefs inside a special covered pavilion. The festival is free and open to the public and will feature an artists’ market, a children’s tent and a craft beer garden.
Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is pleased to announce that the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board will continue as title sponsor of the Louisiana Seafood Festival. The Board is a longtime supporter of the festival and this partnership reinforces the overall goal of promoting Louisiana’s seafood industry while raising funds to give back to the community.
The festival is produced by the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve Louisiana by providing support for the education, health, and social welfare of children in the community. Proceeds from the festival benefit this important foundation.
“We are excited to announce the 2014 festival dates,” said Tony Abadie, Foundation Executive Board Member and Director of Catering and Events, New Orleans Hilton Riverside. “The calls and emails are flooding in, showing the interest within Louisiana and beyond. We were pleased with serving over 45,000 guests last year, and are planning for even larger attendance in 2014. Our team is working on logistical plans to help make the experience a great one for all that attend. Please make plans to join us in October!”
Additional information will be released in coming weeks including details on how to become an event sponsor, food and/or arts vendor, details on how to volunteer and additional announcements on new features at the 2014 festival.
