Louisiana Seafood Festival Enjoyed Continued Growth in Attendance

Bourbon House Awarded Fan Favorite Award

NEW ORLEANS, La. (September 10, 2015) – The Louisiana Seafood Festival hosted their largest crowds ever at City Park’s Festival Grounds as it moved to new dates over Labor Day weekend. Attendance figures were up, hosting over 56,000 guests at the 2015 festival.
“We are excited that the new dates worked out, although we are learning how to battle the blazing heat of early September,” said Tony Abadie, Foundation Vice President. “The crowds were great. We saw a healthy mix of locals and visitors enjoying the food and music. We have already hosted our first planning meeting for 2016 and are discussing ways to continue to improve the consumer and vendor experience.”
There are many signs that the crowds were large – Drago’s Seafood Restaurant served over 40,000 charbroiled oysters, Seither’s Seafood boiled and sold over 1,200 pounds of shrimp, and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra entertained thousands of children in the Kids tent.
Also, guests were invited to vote for their favorite dish on the festival’s smartphone app. The 2015 Louisiana Seafood Festival Fan Favorite Dish was awarded to Bourbon House for their New Orleans BBQ Shrimp Stuffed PoBoy.
The Louisiana Hospitality Foundation, producer of the event, has confirmed they will return to City Park’s Festival Grounds on September 2-4, 2016.
