City Park allows parking on the side of the interior roads unless marked NO PARKING. Please do not block the streets, there are other events happening within the park and people need to be able to move their vehicles throughout the weekend.
Please make sure to follow City Park’s general rules too:
Here is a link to assist you with parking LEGALLY outside the park – watch all signs, especially Residential Parking which requires a permit, and please be good neighbors!
We highly recommend using public transportation or bicycles to access the festival grounds since parking in this area is quite limited. The RTA provides streetcar and bus transportation services heading from downtown New Orleans to the City Park Museum. From that location you can walk on over to the Fest!
Streetcar: From downtown, take the “Canal City Park Museum #48” to the end of the line at City Park. Walk on over to the Fest! Street Car Schedules
City Bus: The following buses will take you to the City Park Museum: “90 Carrollton”, “91 Jackson/Esplanade” and the “48 Canal/City Park Bus (supplemental service to the Canal/City Park Museum Streetcar)”.
Here is the link to read more about the routes and schedules. You can also Google or Bing trip planners, contact RTA’s Rideline at 504-248-3900, or visit www.norta.com for additional bus and streetcar route information.
Handicapped parking is available but limited to first come, first served. Vehicles permitted for handicap parking can enter City Park from Wisner onto Friedrichs Drive, security will verify that the vehicle is marked for handicap parking and direct you forward down Friedrichs Drive. There are two dedicated areas for handicap parking, staffed by security, who will direct you if a spot is available. The park’s resources are limited so we are using two of our festival grounds areas to help provide more handicapped parking spots during the event.
There is a permanent restroom building adjacent to the festival’s cooking pavilion that has handicap accessibility. There are also a few port-o-lets being added on the festival grounds which are handicap accessible.
A small part of the festival grounds has pavement, but the majority of the area is uncovered and grassy. The event is rain or shine, so please keep that in mind when considering navigating the festival grounds with any handicap equipment.
